Hi Sean
The Lincoln Center Library has quite a few shows of the Little Players.
You can watch them right there.
They were aired locally on WNET. I remember one on the theme of love.
There was a scene from Camille and a scene from a Noel Coward play
I wrote obits for both Peschka and Murdock. Both were born in 1921

When PofA had a fest in Toledo in 97 I thought it might be the time entice
them to come to a fest.
That is when I learned that Bill Murdock passed away in 96. I had several
conversations with Frank Peschka. He moved to Arkansas to live with
relatives and passed away in 1999.
I contacted his niece to offer condolences and I asked about what would
happen to the Standwell Puppets. She asked me for suggestions. I am happy
to say that the Standwells found a retirement home at the Puppetry Center in
Atlanta. The puppets are very small.
Peschka and Murdock had a guest book for their theatre. These were donated
to Atlanta as well.
The autographs of people who saw the Standwells included many visits by
Stephen Sondheim, Also
Jerome Robbins, Leonard Bernstein, Colleen Dewhurst. They were all fans.
Steve

Fred,
I did that myself not two days ago.

On a new topic, did anyone on the list ever see the Little Players Theatre
featuring the Stanwells (or perhaps Standwells), five small hand puppets,
run
out of a New York apartment by Francis Peschka and W. Gordon Murdock? They
performed shows to audiences in the apartment for decades. I was wondering
if
anyone knew when they may have stopped, and what happened to them after they
retired to Ohio. There was an early '80s documentary about the theatre
troupe,
in which the puppets were treated as sometimes tempermental actors... I've
seen the documentary, and so have become curious to learn more. It looked
like
the curtained stage was actually a hole cut in the door of a walk-in
closet....
