It is not just Federal or State voting. We all can learn the importance of the secret ballot (Australian Ballot) whether in Elementary School class President elections (where the result was often different when the vote was not secret), or whenever there is more than one candidate for office.

This applies to Puppet Guilds, Puppeteers of America, Unima and other arts organizations.  Elections in Floriduh show what happens when voters are disenfranchised by hanging chads, and judicial decisions made by family members or their appointees on the Court.

Lots of dead people were the result. Hopefully that won't be the extreme result in puppet organizations, but secret ballots are essential to democracy.
