I've been sort-of following the Abby Cadabby saga in my blog. I was
initially critical of the way Sesame Street developed the character
(essentially they have her to better compete with Dora the Explorer)
and I'm suspicious that a lot of their recent projects like Sesame
Beginnings and Abby are more motivated by merchandising and "keeping
up with the Joneses" than their stated goal of educating preschoolers,
but I do think like most here that a lot of the controversy around her
is simply rediculous.

She's an adorable, pink little monster and I am sure little girls will
love her. I'm in Mexico so I have only seen clips of her online, but
from what I have seen she's really well performed by Leslie
Carrara-Rudolph, who is quickly becoming one of my favourite
puppeteers to watch.
