A sea of sock puppets would be a great spectacle. Also, it could produce a nice and memorable still photo. Has promotional appeal-- you can set up sock drops (Give us your socks!) and get sock manufactures to send you some (Sock it to me!) as well. Events/days for "Socks without partners" could give it an adult angle to get teens, college students, and adults involved. Classes at schools could send you sock puppets as well. ( Add a band and have a sock(puppet) hop. ) There also could be a auction of sock puppets by local celebs... auctioned by the pair would be good schtick. (How much am I bid for this pair of... socks?) Yeah, I know you want to do it in 6 days.... The socks are very approachable and can be turned into simple puppets with merely a marker or more elaborately with other materials. But then again... maybe I am just a sock fanatic... I recently bought 72 pairs of new bright yellow baby socks... for $3.00 total:). To: <puptcrit-driftline.org-AT-lists.driftline.org> Message-ID: <047c01c6e2f4$2af95a00$0100000a-AT-brainlesstwit> Help! Ive been asked to create 30-40,000 puppets! Sounds impossible but I think I have an interesting angle. Lots of Participants...say 7-10,000 people at a festival.... are given a blank glove puppet made from recycled paper (of course) and are encourage to decorate it with their own themes/imagery/colours etc. Of course we would ask the participants to do a few each and then at a central event at the festival the puppets would be distributed amongst the crowd and we could create a "Sea of Puppets" much in the vein of the "sea of hands". Has any one had much experience with paper glove puppets and or getting a manufacturer to produce them? Any ideas/lateral thinking/discussion around this would be appreciated. Thanks Daniel could be expanded to about 60,000 puppets or more!!!!! Thanks for the ideas D. Nothing says "green" like a second-hand sock.Quoting Kismet <kismet-AT-bigpond.net.au>: ************** _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-lists.driftline.org Admin interface: http://lists.driftline.org/listinfo.cgi/puptcrit-driftline.org Archives: http://www.driftline.org
