Puptcrit...critical debate about the role of puppetry in the community...Id
say how we pay for our artform is VERY relevant. I dont know about in the US
but one of our major funding opportunities is from gambling...most
organisations turn a blind eye to the source as they hold their hand
out.....and isnt any one going to mention paying good money to see male
ballet dancers prancing around in their undies? Wrestlers? Weight Lifters?
Do we all wear a three peice suite to the beach?....never been to a nudist
beach?(dont forget the sunblok on you know what) It would seem that more
people on Puptcrit have a problem with this than the people of Brooklyn and
it would seem that the problem is the "gay" aspect of the fundraising for a
young persons/childrens theatre event. What...scared they may get some gay
germs? Scared that people will associate puppetry with
being.....queer?....Is "gay" money queer? Are we really THAT scared of what
people would think? Well here is a great idea...if Tims methodes concern
you...and he is obviously meeting a real need in the community......why dont
you have a (non gay) pyjama party and raise the money he requires and send
it to him instead...then Tim can have his undie parties just for the hell of
it.....remember "Only dead fish swim with the stream".
Im also saddened that no one else commented on the great puppets!

D
seriel troll........ occasional performer in underwear.......and doesnt bat
for the "other" side LOL.
