Subject: [Puptcrit] Hoggle Mystery (Was traveling with puppets)

I can shed a little light on the Hoggle.

I use to work at the Center for Puppetry Arts Musuem more years ago than I care think about these days and I heard the following about it from the musuem director of the time. It was part of an exhibit that toured in the late 80s. The figure was armitured within an mich of its life which is part of the reason it looks like a statue rather than the puppet/costume. I had to unpack Alf/Ralph (The Doors) and they were the same. The puppet was one that was worn on screen that they took the electronics out of and sent it out on tour. By the time that the case made it to the unclaimed freight center and was opened the tour had been done for over 2 years (which makes me think that the crate sat somewhere for a long time before it was shipped there) and the condition at the time was not that great (it has gotten worse). Once someone identified what it was they contacted HA! Since the condition was so bad HA! allowed them to keep it and put it in their musuem where it still sits today.
