Subject: [Puptcrit] Puppets Italy!



Ciao everyone!

I am an american college student studying independently in sicily/italy for 
this fall semester 2006. I have been here for a month and a half now, and 
travelled around sicily [got to see some great puppets down there!!!] now i 
am up in the bologna area, and will soon begin independent work with 
Giuseppe and Sandra from Teatro del bidone [of bologna] who have agreed to 
show me the ways of making puppets and the performance that they do, very 
exciting!
I am here in italy until December 16th, when i return home to the states, so 
that leave about 6 weeks once i arrive in bologna for work. does anyone know 
people in bologna or reggio emilia [i also work with children and would love 
to learn more about their teaching methods there] who i could contact to 
work with, or maybe a cheap place to stay? im on a students budget, so 
anything and everything is appreciated!
i also do social activism and political theater/ organizing, so if you 
happen to know of anyone or organization involved with that in the 
bologna/reggio emilia area that would be very appreciated as well! my 
political work is mostly with child advocacy, queer rights, prison 
abolition, womens rights,and general public education. i know this is not a 
political listserve, but i thought since im here and needing contact, id 
ask.

places to stay would be a huge help too, seeing as i am also a young 
american female travelling alone, and my italian is getting better 
but...still far from fluent.
