Subject: [Puptcrit] "Goblin Market" a Halloween adventure for Adults

Hello All,

Renaissance Artist Puppet Company has created a new
production based on Christina Rossetti's work "Goblin Market".
Rehearsals have been going great and we open the new
show this coming weekend.

We have been advertising it with a 17 and older rating because
of the subject matter and because in the past we have primarily
produced Family theatre and did not want our regular audiences to
think it was O.K. to bring their 4 to 10 year olds.

As with all of our performances we are incorporating original music
with multiple styles of puppetry styles. This production will
introduce our new performer, Johanna Dunphy, who brings her grace and
movement in dance and fabric manipulation and her maiden venture on
table top rod puppets.

Terri Fayko and I developed the script from the original poem, and
Terri, Anna Horsey, and Johanna will be our front of the house
performers. Jeff Cleve will be our primary on shadows, screen Fabric,
and music and lights.

This show started out as a way to dip our toes into more mature audience
performance work, which all of us had done on our own, but which
everyone knows is very difficult to market and earn a living. What it
has been to our company is a real gift. We started with a base script
and every time we went into rehearsal, another layer peeled away and
showed us more intense visuals and exciting concepts under the baseline
story. We have really enjoyed getting this ready for it's debut and are
looking forward to continuing work on it after receiving feedback from
our audiences.

We hope to see many of our peers at the production and welcome their
comments both positive and well, this didn't work for me.

Performance Dates and Times:
Friday, Oct. 13th -AT- 7pm
Saturday, Oct. 14th -AT- 3pm & 7pm
Sunday, Oct. 15th -AT- 3 pm
