I mean like any kind you can buy at the hardware store.   DAP comes 
to mind.  I think Elmer's also puts out a brand.  I may be wrong, but 
I remember hearing that Barge was developed for shoe repair.

BTW, there is also a water-based contact cement out there.  I had 
gotten a nice size sample of it at a puppet festival a couple of 
years ago.  3M makes it.  Good new about it - there are no fumes and 
it sets up pretty rapidly.  The jury is still out on how long the 
seams will last, but so far so good.
