I sometimes "paint" an entire foam rubber body surface to give additional protection against deterioration. BUT if you paint over a seam made with original formula contact cement, it will end to loosen the seams, so painting over with water-based contact cement is workable alternative. Weldwood makes the "green can' cwater based and the "brown can" non-water based. Water based does not hold as well as the original. We have tried to mix dye with the contact cement to match skin color, we've flocked over a completed body and we've painted over foam rubber and L200 with both contact cement and "tool dip" Experimenting can turn out well or disastrous....
