Subject: [Puptcrit] Contact Cements

Mathieu,

I've been using LePage's Press-tite Green for years and it works fine with
foam and actually bonds just as well as their regular gel contact cement.
The trick is making sure it's completely tacky before bonding the pieces
together. A small heat fan or hair dryer can be used to speed up the
process. It does take some time, but it's much better for you, your health
and the environment.

I would NOT use Barge. It really is unbelievably toxic. LePage's Premium Gel
Contact Cement is much less toxic if you don't want to use the Green stuff.
If you use regular contact cement be sure to have a respirator with organic
vapour filters (available at Canadian Tire, Home Depot or almost any good
hardware store). Even though the "Green" cement is supposed to be relatively
safe, I still wear a respirator with filters for latex fumes as a
precaution.
