We have used them to protect giant paper-mache puppets in very wet exterior situations. We have found Zinsser's BULLS EYE 1-2-3 to be extraordinary. The heads should of course be throughly primed inside out. It dries fast to re-coat (I use 3+ coats) is sandable and leaves a very smooth satin finish. (clean-up brushes with warm water and soap). A sculptor friend of mine recommended it to us a few years ago and we have used nothing else since. You can find them at any good hardware store. We also use their Shellac spray to protect the acrylic color layer. It is not rated for exteriors but it holds extremely well unless you are performing under the Perfect Storm. Another option if you are really going for a Rain Dance Festival is to use their Bulls Eye 1-2-3 DEEP TINT. This primer allows you to add colorant to the primer without degrading its bonding qualities. As a last note I should mention that we use their BIN Shellac (alcohol based) primer it to prime not only our very abused (interior) puppet heads or props but also our working surfaces which take years of beating before they need to be recoated. Arturo p.s. No, I do NOT work for Zinsser :-). It is just great when you find a truly great product and hypoalergenic on top of that! > ------------------------------ > > Message: 10 > Date: Wed, 8 Nov 2006 10:18:56 -0500 > From: "Bec Young" <byoung-AT-matrixtheatre.org> > Subject: [Puptcrit] Sealing Giant Puppets > > > Hello, I am working on giant puppets for a community theatre.
