Thanks, Mathieu and Animlarts, for getting back. The question I'd like 
to explore is how do puppets change theatre under the best 
circumstances. Not the problems of production, but the effect on the 
art of the finished play when it's all done well.

The motto at the top of my puppetry page is "The play's the thing, and 
puppets are the best actors." ok, "the best," that's just silly, but at 
times puppets seem to bring more to the show than human actors could.

Why is that? what goes on? If anyone knows an article or book chapter...
