The descriptions were in Russian, but I have no idea what the source of these was, but the person who gave them to me said they were from a well-known old Russian puppetry book. They weren't sure, but thought the book might have been based on or copied from work done at the Central Puppet Theatre in Moscow by Sergey Obraztsov. Unfortunately, I inadvertantly lost the binder containing the pages a few years ago and have been trying to track down the original book with no luck (I don't really have much to go on). Over the summer I was browsing through old copies of the Puppetry Journal (sorry I don't remember which) and I came across an issue or two with very similar illustrations of elaborate Russian puppet stages. I suspect they may have come from the same or a similar book. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone else? - Andrew -- The PuppetVision Blog "The web's best source for puppet film and video goodness, delivered fresh to your computer each day." http://puppetvision.blogspot.com _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-lists.driftline.org Admin interface: http://lists.driftline.org/listinfo.cgi/puptcrit-driftline.org Archives: http://www.driftline.org
