We are doing "Far Away" here at Penn State Berks in Reading, PA. The director wants projections; and the show is going to tour as well. I realized that the perfect people to ask might be puppet folk. I need to know enough to be able to start my own research; I know very little about this subject and any tips tricks etc would be helpful. Most video techs blow be away with tech speak on the first go. Also---- any Millenary advice? There are 40 - 60 hats to be made for this production. I'd like to think of them as head puppets. While were are going to borrow as many as possible, I think the hat parade moment needs something especially dramatic so when they say "it's a shame the hats get burned with the bodies' everything clicks for the audience. But the side of the coin is the majority of students will have limited design and construction skills if any. I need some thing simple and effective. Another thing-- I need ideas as to where to beg for donations of scrap ribbons/craft materials to use both in construction and set dressings for the hat factory scene?
