I would like to say that George Latshaw was a kind, intelligent, and spirited man who reached out to puppeteers like me with great excitement about our common work. George was always supportive of my writing about Bread and Puppet Theater in the pages of Puppetry Journal, although he had never met me and didn't really know me. The few times I met him he was always gracious and happy to talk about our shared interests. He is the kind of person you wish you had had time to get to know better. He made great contributions to puppetry with his production work (I wish I had seen Billy the Kid), and his book on puppetry which you see again and again on important bookshelves. jbell ________________________________ From: puptcrit-bounces-AT-lists.driftline.org on behalf of steve abrams Sent: Sun 12/24/2006 12:25 AM To: puptcrit-AT-lists.driftline.org Subject: [Puptcrit] NY TIMES George Latshaw obituary http://www.nytimes.com/pages/obituaries/index.html Thanks to Ms Fox of the NY Times, she interviewed lots of folks for this We had hoped they would run a photo of George with Leslie Caron and Carrot Top Steve _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-lists.driftline.org Admin interface: http://lists.driftline.org/listinfo.cgi/puptcrit-driftline.org Archives: http://www.driftline.org <http://www.driftline.org/> _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-lists.driftline.org Admin interface: http://lists.driftline.org/listinfo.cgi/puptcrit-driftline.org Archives: http://www.driftline.org
