Pollocks is still open for business, by the way, as a museum with a
small shop. A very interesting London museum, with many toys and, of
course, toy theatres, on display... although a photograph in the
exhibit misidentified Charlie McCarthy as Willie Talk!

My BILLY GOATS GRUFF shadow show is an outgrowth of home toy shadow
theatre
tradition.

Pollocks Toy Theatres in London used to sell a script for THE BROKEN
BRIDGE, a
famous Shadow show in the European tradition. It has been performed by
American
puppeteers.

I have taught the simple, low-cost shadow thing at several PofA Fests,
including
the Tampa Fest.

Perhaps this would be of interest to the teacher contact mentioned by
Susan
Kinney.

I have taught simple shadows in schools for decades as a guest teacher,
and
performed for the whole age gamut from young kids to Seniors,

ALAN COOK
