Subject: [Puptcrit] I am not Heather Henson... but i wouldn't necessarily

Hi Matthieu

>Your'e welcome, Terri.
However, what is is your name?<

I have no idea how I did that. I send from a number of computers at my
day job (Filemaker Pro data bases, video production, bibliographic
research, occasional catering...etc.). There is a lot of waiting for
things to work through when the computer is useless for much other than
email. Some are set up with my signature and other computers aren't. I
am too busy/lazy/inconsiderate/antisocial/ all of the above to set up my
profile on all the computers I use. I also abbreviate the list postings
when I reply to cut down on list bloat. That may be where I began to
resemble Heather Henson.

I repeat I am not Heather Henson. I apologize to any Heather Henson's I
may have unknowingly and without malice impersonated now and at any time
in the past. :). If they feel the need to unknowingly and without malice
impersonate me in the future then so be it! I obviously owe them one.

Your'e welcome, Terri.
However, what is is your name?

Your email states as the user: Heather Henson.
A pen name?
A Muppet fan name?
A friend posting from your place?
an alternate personality?
Or maybe Terri is the alternate name???
OR....all of the above?

I encourage strangeness, but this is confusing!

Folks,
I've got about 36 hours to spend in Japan while on my way to Indonesia.
I fly into Narita, and I wonder if anyone knows of puppet related
activities in Tokyo this weekend? In particular, I wonder about any
bunraku theater, a place where I can get a close look at these puppets?
Museum are also a possibility. What can a puppet fan see in such a short
time? Thanks for any suggestions on or off list - A postcard will go to
anyone with a helpful suggestion.

Hi Dan,
Kumbowa, or maybe it's Konichiwa where you are, but it's night here.
You can check and see if the National Bunraku Theater is performing in
Tokyo this weekend. They are based in Osaka but tour a little and one of
there stops is a major hall in Tokyo. Sorry, I don't know the name of
the hall. Do a google search for the National Bunraku Theater and see if
they have a touring schedule.
PUK Puppet Theater is located in Tokyo and is not too far from one of
the train stops. I can't recall which one though. (It's been almost 20
years since I last toured there.) They do some really good work. I
imagine they have a web site as well.
Also the UNIMA-Japan site should have some connections or suggestions
for you.
Good luck and enjoy your 36 hours there. My shortest stay there was
about 10 days and my longest was about 9 months. Both flew by, so I
can't imagine only having 36 hours!
Christopher

Hey folks,

For anyone interested, and in the area, I will be in Watchung, NJ where
I will be
performing "The Velveteen Rabbit" at the Watchung Public Library at
4:00 p.m. Thursday Dec. 14th. The show is actually in the Watchung Arts
Center, which is right next door to the library. If you are close, come
see the show, say hello, and introduce yourself. The show is good for
ages 6 to 106. FYI, it is a
one man show with puppets and storytelling.

Christopher

 Yes, their website is

They're in Shinjuku, an easy five minute walk from one of the busiest
commuter train stations in the world.

The UNIMA office is in the same building as Puk, just upstairs. (map on
the website)
I'll be at a Christmas party there tomorrow night, and will do my best
to check out the fun possibilities for this weekend.
Dan, I'm sorry to say I'll be away for the weekend and won't be able to
show you around this time. Please get back to me offlist with your
schedule details.
