There is a 20 page chapter entitled "Living Marionettes" with photos showing construction of staging nd figures with presentation ideas. I do not know if the book is still available. I recall seeing Bill Stickland performing in 1952 and one of things I remember was that the puppet's hand was holding a match which it struck on the sole of its shoe in order to light a cigarette in the performer's mouth.
