The easy accessibility of addresses on Puptcrit probably should have been
brought up as an issue a long time ago. For years the email addresses on
Puptcrit were publicly available to spammers via the archives and I have had
to close email accounts because of the massive spam that resulted. Now I
believe that the Puptcrit Archives are only accessible to subscribers, but
even so I am not sure how secure the archive is.

I use a Gmail account (not my primary email address) for Puptcrit now and I
find spam is not an issue because Gmail has pretty good spam filtering. It's
also true that the only not to have an email address harvested is to not use
one. That being said, if a more secure system could be implemented I think
that it would be very welcome.
