Can Americans get subscriptions? Uh? ---------------- You caught me by surprise there. At first, I did not recognize my name! (just kidding, but you added one T too many). I don't know where to get Canadian magazines that are not blatant copies or clones of the American ones, and weak imitations at that. That's mostly why I don't read much magazines. I'm talking about such topics as Crafts, Fine Arts, and hobbies. It's even worse with entertainement and gossip. I'd rather have the American ones, which at least have the financial means to convey their goals. Here, magazine look cheap. American magazines aren't hard to find here, at most big international magazine stores. Do you have any specific canadian magazines in mind? Maybe some escaped my enquiring mind (I really want to find quality ones!!!) A bit more on-topic, our Puppeteer's Association here in Quebec (the UNIMA Center for Canada) will launch its new member's directory next week, which is meant to be a good representation of who does puppetry in Quebec (and some in Canada). Pictures, glossy pages, the works. I can't wait to see it. I might be lucky, perhaps some of my sketches or puppet photos were chosen (there was a call for whatever people could contribute). For those interested, why not contact our association, and ask for a copy? A percentage of the copies will be distributed internationally (Unima centers, some festivals), so my guess is it will be better for everyone if they go to interested parties first.
