Subject: [Puptcrit] SILENT DEATH vent horror movie

The L.A. Times review is posted at www.latimes.com for the new "scary" movie called SILENT DEATH. The newspaper ads feature a closeup of a vent dummy's head with a "wooden hand with the Shhhh (quiet) position---finger to the lips. To summarise the review, the movie is "inept".

Like many other dubious films, this was not (NOT!) shown to critics before release Friday. Usually that indicates it stinks.

So the best thing about it may be the poster image.

If I go, it will be to see how many vent figures show up---in the plot, 100 dummies are buried in the cemetery with a dead ventriloquist--a turnoff to begin with.

The reviewer seemed to regret having to sit throuh the movie described as perplexing in many ways. More $$$ was spent (about 17 more than a previous effort) on the film which means it has to be 17 times more profitble to make money.

The concerns of puptcritters about the harm to puppetry from this film may fade?
