Dave, all that this means is that somebody else is paying for those lists.
In other words, somebody else has to value them more than you do, and be able
to afford the price, in order for these lists to continue existing and be
offered for your enjoyment.

Not for as long as somebody else does the paying ;-).

I am not sure what you are referring to here. If I moved the list (which is an
ever receding possibility), I would automatically move the subscription list -
i.e. re-subscribe everybody. On the other hand, the hassle of re-subscribing
is precisely what I have to worry about NOW. People are constantly getting
unsubbed from the list because their spam filters are bouncing the list email,
and then they have to go through the hassle of contacting their ISPs,
re-subscribing, being bounced again, and so on. So if you think the
re-subscription difficulties are something to worry about and something that
degrades the quality of the list, you are only making my own case for me.

Every listserver offers migration tools. This is not a problem.

Yeah, their VPS plans are very much like those offered by Panix, my primary
ISP. The diff between these plans and Apollo's is that with Panix's and
Rimuhosting's VPS, the owner has to basically do the system administration -
there is no system administration offered by the hosting company as part of
the plan. If I am to spend time doing system administration for the server,
I would need to be paid a lot more than the extra $10-20 than Apollo charges
for this service. Wouldn't you?

Well, if suddenly 65 more people declare their willingness to donate $10,
I will be happy to impose upon you for help, if needed.
