Subject: [Puptcrit] Puppets: proof humans are insane

Hi all.
After seeing the dinosaur video being discussed, I am reminded of a thought I had when i was even more of a beginner in the field of puppetry: humans are insane. Artists, doubly so.

We put so much effort, so much supplies, money and so many people to make one thing, one character move. It's even more crazy when you see 4 people become necessary to make one puppet character live on stage or on screen. Parts of me (now well exterminated) said that this is not efficient, a waste of resources, when nature can do it by itself, why bother?

Nowadays, I'm no longer bothered by this: If doing puppetry makes me insane to some people's point of view, then that's what I am, and I love it that way. If this insanity can make people dream, think, reflect, or just entertained, I think its valuable!

Any thoughts?
