There is a fleece called Anti-Pil that should be available where ever polar
fleece is sold. It has a very short pile on it and can help with hiding
seams. It comes it pre-dyed colors, but I have found it will accept dye
(although stubborn) if you purchase a light color and then dye it. I
suggest, if your going flesh tone, to buy the VERY light pink or a color
called "Antique yellow" which is the lightest yellow ever and dye it peach.
RIT has a peach color dye. Otherwise, I do sell Antron fleece by the yard in
my eBay store and I ship worldwide.

Hope that helps! =)

Subject: [Puptcrit] Stretchy fuzzy fabric?

Hi all.
I will soon have to make tv puppets again.
These call for a fuzzy fabric skin all over the head. Like muppet fleece,
but probably less obvious as a texture, because the puppets will be human
characters (not mutants or freaks, alas). It has to be stretchy but not so
prone to unravelling, as it will be hiding a seam for the lower lip of the
puppets which will open for talking. The movement of that lower lip is a
simple trap on a hinge, (not a box in slot like the standard Ventriloquist
dummies.) The trap is activate by a control rod, the puppteer's hands don't
go in the head.

Any suggestions of a fabric that would be good for that?
Preferably an easy to find fabric, that is easy to dye, or is available in
many colors...
Would polar fleece work, and last?

I'm only starting using fabrics, and have lots to learn about the types.
The kinds I know best are simple cottons (muslin, coutil, canvases), fake
furs, and lycra.
Time to broaden my horizons!

Thanks for your time!
