Of course every new idea must be presented in such a formal way

Yes, Charles, and those who are not ready, are put in DD or developmentally
delayed classes, where teachers still insist on teaching in the same
worksheet style class. We had a DD teacher this year who rarely did anything
creative with her kids. And the kids reacted to a chaotic environment by
throwing desks around. Sometimes I wonder if the young teachers even know
how to be hands-on creative themselves. For me, at Cal Poly back in the
early seventies, it was a must. Made one of my first puppets there: a little
Panda bear. Compared to ones made since, it was so small and simple. I
question whether our training of teachers now is sufficient.

Developmentally appropriate education must be reinstalled into our schools
if our children are to survive and prosper. My multiple disabilities student
taught himself how to read this year because he was ready. He just turned 8.
I don't push this kid but let him go at his own pace. Every child needs the
same compensation.

Congratulations on your daughter's graduation! My Laura had hers today, as
well, from Atlee High School.
