Joe,

Another cheap copy write thing is to take a picture of your
work upon it's completion, print it, write on the back your
name and the date you completed the work.  Put it in an envelope
and mail it to yourself.  Do not open it, simply leave it sealed
and place it in a draw, The post mark from the post office acts
as a legal documentation of date, provided you do not unseal the
letter.

For your own records, if you are doing this a lot, you can write
at the bottom of the envelope something like Dragon or Baby Dragon,
so when your envelopes start to compile you have a good idea what
each one documents.
