Stephen,
When Susan and I did our Show a the Carnegie Museum we shipped it all 
by rail as freight and it was very reasonable. I had a 16 foot light 
box and some humongous trunks which we shipped form Portland to 
Pittsburgh. It only cost about $200. Yoiu can take up as much  room 
as you want. I think we paid by the pound. Rail is the cheapest. You 
just have to allow enough time for it to get there. Have fun!
