I've used a black bristled brush attachment on a
dremel with great success . its a simple soft black
bristle it looks like nylon. I've seamed masks with it
but it can tear in if you get careless

Thanks a lot for this tip, Joe. I have one of those brush attachements, and 
never really found a use for it.
Until now. Trying on a messed up latex head (I'll turn it into a disgusting 
zombie puppet one day), I can see what you mean! At setting 5, it really 
digs into the latex, great for fixing raised scars without leaving much 
"peel" behind, if I don't apply too much pressure.
