First of all, thanks for all the feed back on liability insurance. I didn't realize it's such a hot topic right now, and it sounds like it's the wave of the future and I will be looking into getting some insurance. Such a weird world. People are so eager to blame others for their problems and sue you. Weird Al Yankovic even had a song on his latest album "Straight out of Lynwood" about suing! Appropriately entitle "I'll Sue Ya". Humerous song, but way too much truth to it.

One tip on shiny paint that I was given by an old scenic painting pro, if you want to kill the gloss in glossy paint (latex), he suggested adding talcum powder. I've never tried it, even though I'm also a scenic artist in addition to a puppeteer, but it's an old tried but true method.

Also to paint latex puppets, Diane Houk at the Puppetry Arts Institute in Independence Missouri, buys vinyl cell paint that is used in the cartooning industry. The Hazelle puppets, which are actually a rigid rubber, are painted with that and it sticks beautifully! I would imagine it would work on latex as well. I haven't bought any yet, but she found it on the internet and says it's not terribly expensive. They do Saturday make and take puppet workshops where kids can buy Hazelle puppet heads, paint them and then take them home. Really a fun idea!

See you all at the festival!
