Delighting audiences of all ages the fuzzy and googly eyed characters of The
Puppetry Arts Theatre=B9s =B3In A Round About Way=B2 brings to the stage an
exciting new musical filled with gigantic puppets and swinging new songs for
the whole family 4pm Sunday July 15 and 4pm Sunday July 22 at the Old Stone
House of 5th Avenue and 4th Street, Park Slope.
 
This free event, sponsored by The Puffin Foundation, Park Slope Civic
Council and the new Comfort Inn Brooklyn, will be accessible to the
handicapped and disabled and a Sign Language translator will be introduced
at the bottom left of the stage of the performance.

While there are no strings attached, puppets bring to the stage the story of
Elizabeth who runs away from home only to get lost in a forbidden part of
the woods. Struggling to escape from being placed on display in the carnival
of the evil spider Venton, and avoiding the Kingdom=B9s Queen, who wishes to
banish the child to the darkest dungeons, Elizabeth discovers new friends a
new definition of family.
 
Book by Timothy E. Young, Executive Director of TPAT  =B3In A Round About Way=B2
features music by Matt Anderson and Antonio Topete introducing original
songs, which include =B3We Could Be Friends=B2 where a big monster named Gorby
exclaims that there is nothing better then being friends even though
everyone may be different. =B3Open Your Heart=B2 brings the old dragon Granath
to the stage to remind everyone to look to the world through someone else=B9s
eyes and not just their own and the whole performance ends with an up and
out of your seat song entitled =B3We Got Love.=B2
 
It is the mission of The Puppetry Arts Theatre to offer creative outlets and
cultural exploration to all inner city youth and families through the
multidisciplinary art of puppetry building upon youth development and
enriching family activity. =B3In A Round About Way,=B2 like that of TPAT Arts in
Education Programs, supports this mission by incorporating artists from
diverse communities and backgrounds and celebrates the strength that comes
from family and friends.
