The pictures of the Dwiggins' paddle control are available on the internet. Do a search for "Dwiggins, marionette, paddle control". This doesn't really help me for this purpose as I want to use the original controls. I cannot be quite such a purist with the stringing as the puppets have been re-strung several times. I have one boy with 24" from head to control and a policeman with 36" from head to control. Some have green string, some black, some brown. I have no idea what the original lengths would be. I will check the Dwiggins book for help. It is a great source. On another note, one can buy the Dwiggins book cheaply on e-Bay. I paid $50.00 for mine. Book dealers consider it valuable, but the truth is that there really is not that much interest in the book and those that are interested do not have the discretionary income to pay hundreds of dollars for a book. Thanks for the great tip. Off to check out Dwiggins.
