Subject: [Puptcrit] Puppetry Fest: Puppet Rampage 2007-more thanks

I owe a big thank you to Philip Huber for packing all the "legends" puppets from my collection which were shown in the campus exhibit, and to Mary Decker who shipped them from the campus mail room for me. I know for a fact that she was up into the wee 4 a.m. hours packing campus exhibit puppets which Philip was unable to finish before dashing off to the airport. It is this sort of unheralded effort offered by many at the Fest that helped make the event like good old times of yore. So, , because I don't know who ALL the unheralded helpers were, I offer a collective THANK YOU.

ALAN COOK

I noted a few days ago that someone on this list was asking about
Walter Wilkinson and his visit to Australia.
I live in the area where he lived in the West Country of England and
I have been making enquiries.
When he died he left a quantity of information in some cases which
were handed to a puppeteer who lived close by called Steven Walker.
He has moved away but I managed to track him down and last evening
had a long chat with him. He now lives at Burnham on Sea in Somerset.
He told me he still does Punch on the beach at week-ends and also at
the Covent Garden Festival in London in May.
He does have all the Walter Wilkinson manuscripts for the books,
including the book for his trip to Australia which had never been
edited and the frontage of the Peepshow.
I asked Steven whether he would get it published and apparently a
relative of Walter would not give permission. He told me that he
lectures on the subject and is writing a book about him, which has
taken a couple of years so far. I enquired whether he wished to sell
any of the material, but he wishes to keep it.
He gave me his eMail address which is stevenwalker.526-AT-btinternet.com .
I hope this information helps.

Thanks Mark! I second that! I wanted to personally thank
everyone at Puppet Rampage for being so supportive of both
organizations. Everyone was so jazzed about puppets on the
national level (PofA) as well as in the global sense (UNIMA) and
it was so EXCITING! If after the festival you now remember
something you wanted to ask or say to one of us UNIMA-USA board
members about the upcoming world congress, UNIMA-Africa, or
anything else, don't hesitate to email us!

THANKS AGAIN!
- Gretchen
(director of WARHOL and pink pres of UNIMA-USA)
