Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] Has anyone tried Paper Mache product called

I have used it and another liquid paper mache product ( I cannot
remember the name, but it is of German manufacture.) I find them
very easy to use and quite satisfactory for casting; however, the
material is fragile. It is intended, as far as I know, for
dollmaking. I certainly would not use it for Punch and Judy heads.
It would also be tricky for hands with separate fingers. The
material is porous; so, I apply very thin shellac to the inside and
the outside of the casting. The shellac is absorbed by the cast. It
helps to strengthen it. I am sure that one could use something else,
but I tend to be stuck in the 19th century. If you have any
additional questions, please let me know.

Jon

PS, It takes paint well.
