Subject: [Puptcrit] TECH: Tools: rifflers for clay

A few months ago I read, in a sculpture book by an Artist called Rubino (I think), that you can use rifflers as your main modeling tool in clay.
I can confirm it now that I have tried it...

Rifflers are not only good for refining the volumes on wood, plaster, foam, and stone. They can also be used as fine "rakes" for shaping the clay and even smooth it, before final smoothing with brush and solvent.

The riffler I got is Italian-made, small, and the teeth are very fine.
I got it from Sculpture House.
