Hope it make an impact. There was just a puptcrit letter directing us to a website with such "cute puppets." And there they were. Malformed, inbred Muppet copies. It's fine if someone wants to make them, and fine if she thinks they are "cute." It's fine if someone wants to buy them. But feeling a bit like Cassandra here, "CAN'T YOU SEE THE LACK OF ANY LEVEL OF ABILITY IN THESE LUMPS?" The great Paul Ashley was once asked (in 1976) what he sees as a big issue in puppetry today and he said "lack of good craftsmanship." I certainly agree, but that's only one ingredient in the recipe of a gourmet meal. Puppetry is that and more. Howard.
