Everyone-
Thank you for the suggestions so far. It is amazing what is out there  
that people have done. I am finding new puppeteers and puppetry  
groups I had never hear of/seen before.

Mathieu-
The reason I put the "beautiful" in quotes was because what is  
beautiful to one person is hideous to another. I didn't want to  
stifle anyone from presenting what they found beautiful.

I was reminded of this last week when I showed someone my portfolio  
and they had a strange reaction to the Pinhead (hellraiser) Hand and  
Rod puppet I did as a lark. Hellraiser scared the bejeezus out of  
them in college but the puppet is rather cute so they really didn't  
know how to react to it.
