You can have the rigid part of your booth start at about chest height and go
above your head. From that structure down to your ankles, you can construct
basically a huge pair of pants that attach to the bottom edge of your rigid
booth, with velcro, snaps or any means you like. This will give you lots of
mobility. And with the rigid part starting above your waist, you'll have the
additional ability to twist, turn and bend. We worked with such a design for years
very successfully.

Also, if you make the pants come in tight to your ankles with elastic, any
puppets you happen to accidentally drop inside the booth aren't lost, they're
just somewhere down around your ankles, and if you're agile enough you can
retrieve them.
