I may have another contract adding itself to the pile. For it to work, I would have to know how to modify a suitcase to make it look antique and interesting for a Storyteller. I made her a Witchbook (Witch puppet inside a dictionary-sized grimorum) last year, and she comes back for more now. Has anyone ever modified the outside of a hard plastic suitcase with something less toxic than fiberglass? I have an idea that migth work, but I'd like your opinion on it: I'd like to change its shape also, so I would glue strips of wood and/or hard foam and/or cord to it, prior to covering it all in a few layers of strong paper mache strips. But for this to work I need a strong adhesion of the paper to the plastic. I could cover the suitcase with thin cotton fabric, using industrial grade contact cement (that stuff sticks leather to metal permanently). That might provide the necessary ground for paper mache strips. I trust my paper mache to be more than strong enough, provided the adhesion is optimal. Does anyone have other alternatives for covering the plastic suitcase? Weight is an issue, since she will need it to carry heavy books around. _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
