Subject: [Puptcrit] Going on first Tour: advice?


Hi all.

It's been confirmed recently, I signed the contract, and now I'm all excited to be going on my first tour as a puppeteer (shadow show).
I don't know the Net-iquette for this, so i'm not mentionning who hired me yet. Maybe they will come forward?
All by car, no planes to take. The tour is going to last about a month, in various cities.. It will be in the USA, so it also coincides with my first step out of Canada. It's in great part thanks to Puptcrit, of course!

Boy do I sound green. In certain aspects, I am! 
So I'd appreciate advice and anecdotes from relatively experienced and old timers of puppet tours.

suggested topics: 

-useful advice on manipulating shadows and the lighting simultaneously (although there will be intensive training provided beforehand)
-what to bring on the actual tour, 
-useful gear
-sources for best comfortable black outfits
-recommended exercises to stretch and warm up
-foods to try
-books
-anything else that you might deem interesting/funny/terrifying
