Dear Mathieu, I am about to go on my 20th tour...I love touring... for me it feels like time out from regular life, with my higher purpose! I have never received a bill on tour (although that is changing with the internet) nor a really big problem. It's like the gods smile on those who provide assembly programs in school! Advice to anyone touring: THE SHOW COMES FIRST - get high later and find love somewhere else! Eat breakfast, lift with your legs, go to bed when you're tired, put those zinc swabs in your nose and you don't get colds, take a project for the ride, be amazed at other people's talent and learn from them and if someone puts ketchup on their eggs ... don't say a thing! The bonds I have made while touring have been unbelievable, I never married any of those souls but we were all family briefly and deeply. Hi all. It's been confirmed recently, I signed the contract, and now I'm all excited to be going on my first tour as a puppeteer (shadow show). I don't know the Net-iquette for this, so i'm not mentionning who hired me yet. Maybe they will come forward? All by car, no planes to take. The tour is going to last about a month, in various cities.. It will be in the USA, so it also coincides with my first step out of Canada. It's in great part thanks to Puptcrit, of course! Thanks Puptcrit! Boy do I sound green. In certain aspects, I am! So I'd appreciate advice and anecdotes from relatively experienced and old timers of puppet tours. suggested topics: -useful advice on manipulating shadows and the lighting simultaneously (although there will be intensive training provided beforehand) -what to bring on the actual tour, -useful gear -sources for best comfortable black outfits -recommended exercises to stretch and warm up -foods to try -books -anything else that you might deem interesting/funny/terrifying thanks! _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
