Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] Creating shadow puppets using polycarbonate

I think we had a similar discussion recently which prompted me to explore an
idea....clear polycarbonate sheeting cut to the outline and then using
photoshop and a cheap vinyl cutter (mine cost $200 US) to cut the details
out in black vinyl and stick to the polycarbonate. The tests have proved
really interesting and I now have three months to make 17 one and a half
metre high shadow puppets for "Rama's Journey"... a "sound bite"
presentation of the Ramayana. ( 60 minutes instead of 19 hours!!!! with a
full 30 piece Gamalen and five Dalangs with an English Narrator) Ill let you
know how it goes.
(You could always take you artwork on a disc to the local signwriters and
ask them to cut the vinyl out on their pro-cutters that can cut up to 2
metres wide...mine only cuts 400mm)
