You know, the bag would have an opening for a stage? This would prove that puppetry can indeed exist in a vacuum. ducking, Ed About the art and communication, what about this? 1, There's communication that means "saying something," like a message driven piece. 2, And there's communication that means partaking of what an artist is doing with the million year old shared experiences of humanity. The way I see it, art and music, poetry work because there is a enormous block of experiences that humanity shares. So that if someone makes something, there is an impression called forth that is more or less similar to impressions which may be called forth in others. Easy examples would be the sound of a baby crying, a sunny day, darkness, but it can get as subtle as an eyebrow raising a sixteenth of an inch. You experience these things and your mind and body responds. When you say a work "speaks to you" and you mean communication type 2, well I certainly agree. There's nothing wrong with communication type 1, and I do plenty of it, it's just that in my opinion it has less to do with art. best, Ed _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
