Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] Shadow puppetry at Burning Man?

Yeah, Burning Man seems like a wild rumpus artists would appreciate.
They already have giant puppets, so shadows should be welcomed with open
arms/claws/feelers.

Once, in a local puppet festival, I've seen a giant shadow screen lighted by
a great big bonfire.
The screen was simply a very large sheet of fabric stretched between two
deeply staked very tall posts.
Probably twelve feet high. The show was badly planned, but the shadow effect
was neat. They used humans and various objects, no pre-made puppets per say.
I was sad that the fire was only used for the shadow, what a waste of so
much good wood!
An electrical spotlight with diffuser and a flicker box would have done
better, and lasted longer than the fire.
