I taught stage make up at the university level and found the following
to be helpful basic books which included or focused on prosthetics.

Stage Makeup (9th ed.) by Richard Corson and Techniques of Three
Dimensional Makeup by Lee Baygan.

Depending upon where you live/work, these books might be available in
your nearest university library. You can also request an inter library
loan from your local library. Amazon sells some and any bookstore could
order them for you.

Laytex prosthetics have a short life -- can be used once or twice
because the edges are stretched or damaged in the removal. It is
necessary to make multiple pieces if your run is going to be long.

Doing a complete facial transformation also takes hours to apply. Half
masks of thermoplastic
is a much easier way to go

Dorlis.
