Subject: [Puptcrit] Tech question on shadows

Dear Conrad,

Maria Bodmann of Bali and Beyond sells a set of hand-forged Balinese shadow
puppet punches on her website:

http://balibeyond.com/wayangshop.html

60 bucks for a set of 20. You can use them on leather or cardboard. They
are fantastic!!!

I use 4-ply black mat board or museum board for my puppets, which is
relatively easy to cut with an X-acto knife. It's sufficiently rigid, unless the
puppet is over 2 feet tall, in which case I reinforce it with a dowel or wire.

If you send me your mailing address offline, I'd be happy to mail you a copy
of a sort of handbook I've made with information on materials and techniques I
use to make shadow puppets.

-- Lynn
