Let our creative > sides run wild sometimes. I always say that any good play has a message. It's called the subtext. And I don't know what aggravates me more, the people who insist on a show with an obvious lesson or the people who pander to them with pseudo-educational plays. How many puppeteers have promoted their plays - which at one time could honestly have been described as fairy tales, folk tales or even original stories - as being about diversity, self esteem, etc.?
