I always say that any good play has a message.  It's called the subtext. 
And I don't know what aggravates me more, the people who insist on a show
with an obvious lesson or the people who pander to them with
pseudo-educational plays.

How many puppeteers have promoted their plays - which at one time could
honestly have been described as fairy tales, folk tales or even original
stories - as being about diversity, self esteem, etc.?
