There was a pre-arranged cue- a rousing chorus of "Jingle Bells." from a particular puppet named Albert On many many occasions I got a frantic message that Santa wasnt ready yet, and could I stretch the show. I had a limited repertoire of non-religious songs- Deck the Halls, Santa Claus is Coming to town, and of course Rudolph. Sometimes even after doing all of these- he still wasnt ready. A few times a Santa who was a bit dim, or over eager, or drunk, entered before the chorus of jingle bells, and the show ended early. But Santa and I have become very close. I had one gig where the sponsor owned several apartment complexes. To provide holiday entertainment at each, he arranged for Santa and his pal, the puppeteer (me) to arrive at 4 different sites, by helicopter. It was a thrilling experience to fly over Philadelphia by chopper (and with such distinguished company) Steve ----- Original Message ----- From: "Evy Wright" <evy_wright-AT-yahoo.com> To: <puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org> Sent: Thursday, December 27, 2007 10:30 PM Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] SOM- Audience > Wayne Krefting Wrote: > > When we got under way >> some staff member announced "Easter Egg Hunt!!" at >> which time the audience disappeared into the hunt >> for sugary bliss. >> >> Wayne Krefting > __________________________________________________ > > I had one like this once at a Christmas party for a > country club.
