I worked with some elementary school classes make finger puppet plays from a few of his stories, at the behest of the school yet! Indeed, quite an article about quite an agering situation! Political correctness at all costs is a poison like any other: to be avoided. And underestimating our children to the point of overprotecting them is a BIG mistake. How will they learn if they don't get exposure to the elements, people, ideas, dangers, joys of this world? Big Corporations tend to overdo it because they'd rather err on the side of caution, avoiding lawuits and so on. That is the wimpy irresponsible way, making them unfit leaders, in my opinion. For years I've been inspired by an insidious idea: making puppet shows that teach children how to rebel in a positive way, how to think for themselves, how to question everything. Of course, the trick is to pass it as "harmless" and "proper" in the eyes of parents, teachers and dictators that actually book the show. Maybe I'll get there someday. _______________________________________________ List address: <mailto:puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org>puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: <http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit>http://listspuptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: <http://www.driftline.org>http://www.driftline.org _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
