Again, it will be for a high school which has a somewhat limited budget. My first set, back in 1999, turned out pretty well, but after several years of rental the largest puppet really fell apart due to lack of structural support, especially in the bottom part of the pod. If anyone out there has any suggestions to reinforce the structure and still make it lightweight, I would appreciate any and all suggestions if you've built these puppets too. One problem, I'm in Nebraska and we have limited materials resources here. Can't find stripped rattan to save my over net surfed brain. But if that's what really works and you know a source, please pass it on. Also, I noted in Marty's designs, he says you can kind of fill out the puppets with ethafoam. All I can find in ethafoam is the tube type stuff. Is that what he's talking about? I guess I should have asked him that stuff this past summer at the festival.... Didn't know then I was about to build these again. Anyhoo, thanks! I'm starting on the puppets this week. Short timeline to build them, but since I did the patterning and kept it, I hope this goes smoothly. Ya never know!!! Life is a surprise.
